2018 Swift Current Multisport Club's (SCMC)
Adult Swim Program  

The goal of the Swift Current Multisport Club (SCMC ) is to provide a top level adult swim program for participants aged 18 years and older. The intent of the program is to have fun, while helping our members to develop strong, efficient, swim strokes, improve fitness, and increase endurance. The head instructor, Gary Cheung, is an experienced, highly qualified, National Coaching Certified (NCCP) swim coach.

Tuesdays 8:30pm-9:30pm 

  • Swim sessions are in 10 week blocks, swimming 1x/week.  Four different levels I-IV
  • Must have minimum 4 to maximum 6 swimmers/lane of similar swim level
  • Registration funds are non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Must have a valid 2018 Saskatchewan Triathlon Association Corporation (STAC) membership

Next 2018 Session:

Level I ~ Beginner / Development of stroke techniques

  • Course is for those participants who are comfortable in DEEP water
  • Able to swim at least 25m (non-stop) in swim/kick/pull form
  • Focused on developing proper swim stroke techniques, and fitness improvement to complete a “Try-a-TRI” (300m)
  • Build confidence
  • Develop strong, efficient strokes
  • Improve one’s fitness, strength and speed

Level II ~ Intermediate / or Interested in “Trying-A- Triathlon”

  • This swim course is for participants who think they might consider doing a triathlon for their first time, but are nervous about swimming, or who find swimming 200m to 750m continuously a challenge.
  • This swim course will be focused on stroke and fitness improvement for participants can complete a “Try-a-TRI” (300m) or “Sprint TRIATHLON” swim distance (750m).

Level III ~ Advanced / Triathlon Improvement Swimming

  • This swim course is for people who can swim with confidence, but know they have room for improvement.
  • Participants in this class can swim 750m, and are looking to improve their speed, technique, and endurance
  • Swimmers could possibly have the goal of completing sprint (750m) or Olympic distance (1500m) triathlons
  • Expect workouts ranging between 1300m to 2000m in 60 minutes
  • Develop strong, efficient strokes
  • Improve one’s fitness, strength and speed

Level IV (Competitive / Triathlon Performance Swimming

  • This swim course is for athletes who want to perform competitively.
  • Participants might be planning to compete in triathlons ranging from Sprint (750m) to Ironman distances (3800m)
  • Participants can expect workouts ranging between 1800m and 2500m in 60 minutes.
  • Develop strong, efficient strokes
  • Improve one’s fitness, strength and speed
